Karachi : Customs officials intercepted a non-custom-paid Land Cruiser at the Karachi–Hyderabad Toll Plaza and asked the passenger to produce the vehicle’s documents, which he failed to provide. Upon suspicion, officials conducted a detailed search of the vehicle and discovered five hidden compartments containing a large quantity of smuggled mobile phones.
According to Collector Customs Mueenuddin Wani, the mobile phones were expertly concealed inside the vehicle’s fenders and bumper. A total of 564 smuggled mobile phones of various brands were recovered, valued at approximately 34 million rupees.
Officials also seized the non-custom-paid Land Cruiser worth 20 million rupees. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
