Karachi: A horrifying murder took place in Shah Latif Town where a man was brutally killed after demanding repayment of a Rs 2 million loan.
According to police, a tortured body was recovered from a house in Shah Latif Town. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Amir Qureshi, had been called to the location under the pretext of returning the loan amount.
Police took five individuals, including a woman and a child, into custody from the residence. Initial investigations revealed that the victim was beaten to death with a hammer, though it was initially suspected to be a shooting incident. No bullet wounds were found on the body.
Authorities said the victim and the homeowner had an ongoing financial dispute. The suspect allegedly lured Amir Qureshi to the house to repay the loan, then murdered him using blunt force.
The suspect, along with two accomplices, had planned to dispose of the body near Ghaghar Phatak and attempted to mislead investigators by hiding the victim’s car and staging a fake abduction.
Police traced the crime after reviewing CCTV footage outside the suspect’s residence, which raised suspicion. Upon searching the house, officers discovered Amir Qureshi’s body and recovered the murder weapon.
Police have transferred the detained individuals to the station for further investigation, which is currently underway.
