Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the new digital MDCAT system at the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to make medical admissions more transparent and efficient.
The system includes a standardized question bank, online monitoring, and a secure registration portal to reduce errors and ensure fairness.
PMDC clarified that it will oversee registration and policy, while provincial universities will conduct and evaluate the exams.
Over 97,000 students have already registered, with more than 150,000 expected this year. The minister stressed accuracy and zero tolerance for mistakes, while PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj said the reforms will restore merit and public trust in the admission process.
