The national anti polio campaign has been successfully completed in 79 districts across the country.
The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) stated that more than 18.6 million children were administered polio vaccine drops nationwide.
In 10 districts of Punjab, more than 6.06 million children received the polio vaccine, while 5.74 million children were vaccinated in 20 districts of Sindh.
In 23 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 4.39 million children were vaccinated against polio, while 1.96 million children received polio drops in 25 districts of Balochistan.
In Islamabad, approximately 435,000 children were administered polio vaccine drops, and 88 percent of children were reached during the follow up phase.
Focal Person Ayesha Raza Farooq said that the success of the anti polio campaign was the result of the tireless efforts of polio workers. She added that vaccination campaigns are essential for the complete eradication of polio.
