The Punjab Education Department has introduced strict security measures for all public and private schools across the province to enhance student safety, City42 reported.
Under the new guidelines, school administrations must conduct daily bag checks of students to detect any prohibited or suspicious items. All CCTV cameras are to remain fully functional at all times, while metal detectors must be actively used at entry points by trained staff.
The department has further directed schools to raise security awareness among students and staff through classroom discussions and regular safety meetings. Teachers are instructed to remind students about the importance of vigilance and adherence to security protocols.
School heads have been ordered to establish clear reporting procedures for any unusual or suspicious activity, ensuring immediate communication with local police and district education authorities.
Officials stated that these measures are part of a province-wide safety campaign aimed at protecting students, teachers, and school staff throughout Punjab.
