Over Rs14 Billion Allocated for Health Projects in Budget 2025-26

The federal government has allocated a significant budget of Rs14.3 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2025-26 to complete 21 ongoing health projects.

‎Presenting the budget in the National Assembly, Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that the allocation aims to improve health sector infrastructure, promote preventive measures, and ensure the provision of quality medical services.

‎‎According to budget documents, more than Rs14 billion has been earmarked for teaching hospitals and tertiary care facilities. The funds will be used to equip hospitals and medical centers with modern medical equipment.

‎‎A new cancer hospital will also be established in the federal capital, Islamabad, as part of the proposed funding.

‎‎In addition, healthcare facilities across the country will be upgraded to provide better medical services to the public.

‎‎The allocated funds will also cover screening and treatment programs for Hepatitis C and diabetes nationwide.
