Karachi: Pakistan Coast Guards have conducted major operations against Iranian diesel smuggling over the past month, seizing a total of 1,764,615 liters of illegal diesel.
According to a spokesperson for Pakistan Coast Guards, the operations were based on intelligence and carried out through road checkpoints in various areas of Balochistan, including Gwadar, Pasni, and Uthal, as well as via maritime routes.
The spokesperson added that 1,746,615 liters were intercepted via land routes, while 18,000 liters were recovered from the sea. The seized diesel was reportedly being smuggled from Balochistan to Karachi. During the operations, trucks and oil tankers loaded with diesel were also confiscated, and further investigations have been launched.
The total estimated value of the seized diesel and vehicles is approximately Rs. 487.03 million. The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan Coast Guards remain vigilant against all forms of smuggling and will continue to contribute to safeguarding the national economy.
