KARACHI, October 28, 2026: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) recorded a strong performance on Tuesday, October 27, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 1,428.73 points, rising 0.88% to close at 164,467.20 points.
The index had closed at 163,038.47 points in the previous trading session. During Tuesday’s session, it reached an intraday high of 164,787.67 points, reflecting renewed buying interest across several key sectors.
According to market reports, buying activity was particularly visible in the banking, cement, automobile, and energy sectors. The market’s total trading volume reached approximately 401.97 million shares, with a traded value of around Rs18.07 billion.
Market sentiment received support from the State Bank of Pakistan’s decision to raise the policy rate by 50 basis points to 12%, a move viewed by some investors as less aggressive than anticipated. Easing international oil prices also supported market confidence during the session.
However, analysts cautioned that global geopolitical developments, inflationary pressures, and future monetary policy decisions could continue to influence market performance.
The latest rally marks another positive session for Pakistan’s equity market, although sustained gains will depend on economic conditions and investor confidence.
