Pakistan has strongly condemned the unprovoked Isr@eli airstrikes on Iran, calling the assault a “blatant violation of international law and Iranian sovereignty.” The strikes, reportedly targeting nuclear and military facilities, killed several Iranian nuclear scientists and top military officials, sparking outrage and concern across the region.
The attack, launched early Friday, is being described as one of the most serious escalations in recent Middle Eastern tensions. Isr@el claims it was aimed at halting Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program. Tehran, however, has repeatedly asserted that its nuclear ambitions are entirely peaceful.
President Asif Ali Zardari Reacts
In an official statement from the Presidency, President Asif Ali Zardari termed the attacks a “flagrant violation” of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“These military strikes are a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a total disregard for the UN Charter and international law,” President Zardari said.
“Pakistan expresses its heartfelt sympathies with the people of Iran over the tragic loss of life.”
He called on the international community and the United Nations to hold the aggressor accountable and to take swift action to prevent further escalation in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Statement
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also issued a strong condemnation via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today’s unprovoked attack on Iran by Isr@el. I convey my deepest sympathies to the Iranian people. This grave and irresponsible act is deeply alarming and threatens to destabilize an already volatile region.”
He urged the international community to step in immediately to de-escalate the situation and preserve regional and global peace.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Joins in Condemnation
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments, calling the attack an “abhorrent” and “unjustified” act that undermines the very foundation of international law.
“This brazen violation of Iran’s sovereignty has shaken the conscience of humanity,” Dar posted on X.
“Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the Government and people of Iran.”
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Issues Official Statement
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) also issued a formal statement condemning the attacks:
“Pakistan strongly condemns Isr@el’s military strikes inside Iranian territory. These actions are a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter,” said the Foreign Office spokesperson.
“Iran, as a sovereign nation, has every right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter.”
The statement further urged the international community to intervene and prevent any further military escalation.
