Panjgur : An attempted robbery at a private bank in Panjgur district, Balochistan, was foiled following swift action by law enforcement agencies, officials confirmed on Monday.
According to police sources, armed suspects entered the bank and began looting when security forces were alerted. Police and other law enforcement personnel promptly reached the scene, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire between the attackers and security forces.
During the confrontation, a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) official, identified as Dor Muhammad, embraced martyrdom after sustaining critical injuries. Two civilians passing through the area were also injured in the crossfire.
Authorities stated that the attackers managed to flee after taking a limited amount of cash; however, their broader plan was disrupted due to the timely response of security personnel.
Following the incident, a large-scale search operation has been launched across the area to apprehend the suspects, with additional security deployed to maintain law and order.
The injured civilians were shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors reported their condition as stable. Police have initiated further investigations and expressed confidence that those involved will be arrested soon. Officials reiterated their resolve to counter all attempts aimed at destabilizing peace in the province.
