The polio campaign in Lahore will continue without any break from 6 to 8 February during the Basant festival.

‎The Anti Polio Program says that children’s health is the top priority during the festival of joy, and there will be no pause in the campaign even on Basant. Every child must receive the polio vaccine, while movement during Basant poses an additional challenge for polio workers.

‎Despite the festival, crowds, and travel, frontline workers will remain active. There is a risk of reintroduction of the virus due to people coming to Lahore from other provinces during Basant.

‎To prevent the reentry of the virus into Lahore, polio teams are on high alert. During Basant, mobile teams and special check points will remain active.
