The polio virus has been confirmed in 46 environmental samples collected from various cities across the country.
According to sources at the Emergency Operations Center, all the environmental samples were collected during November 2025. So far in 2025, polio has been confirmed in 611 environmental samples.
Sources said that the environmental samples were taken from different districts of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan. Polio virus has been confirmed in samples from Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Lahore, Peshawar, Bannu, and Quetta.
Health department officials said that anti polio campaigns are being further intensified to prevent the disease.
