Pune police have moved to close the net on the suspects behind the brutal killing of Ketan Agarwal, releasing forensic details that point to a premeditated and cold-blooded execution. The investigation, which has gripped the city for weeks, shifted this morning as investigators laid out a timeline of events that shatters the initial narrative of a botched robbery.

The victim’s body, discovered in a remote area on the outskirts of the city, showed signs of prolonged struggle. Forensic reports indicate that the injuries were not sustained in a single encounter but were the result of a targeted assault. Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed that the primary motive was financial, linked to a high-stakes business dispute that turned fatal.

“We aren’t looking at a random act of violence,” a lead investigator told reporters during a brief press briefing. “The evidence suggests a level of planning that is frankly chilling.”

The investigation took a sharp turn when digital footprints—specifically encrypted messaging logs recovered from the victim’s laptop—revealed a series of threats sent in the days leading up to his disappearance. These logs, combined with CCTV footage from a nearby industrial park, allowed police to identify three individuals who were present at the scene.

Two suspects are currently in custody. A third, identified by authorities as a former business associate of Agarwal, remains at large. Police teams are tracking his mobile signal across state lines, though he has managed to stay one step ahead of the dragnet so far.

For the Agarwal family, the police revelations provide little comfort. The brutality described by the medical examiner—details that officials have largely kept from the public to protect the integrity of the ongoing trial—suggests a personal vendetta rather than a simple contract killing.

As the search for the final suspect intensifies, the Pune police are facing mounting pressure to provide a motive that satisfies the public’s demand for accountability. The case serves as a grim reminder of how quickly professional disputes can escalate when left unchecked.

The court is expected to hear the initial bail arguments later this week. Whether the evidence gathered so far will lead to a swift conviction remains the central question for a city waiting for closure.
