The Punjab Education Department has warned all teachers and school heads that corporal punishment is strictly banned across the province.

A notification issued by the District Education Authority Mandi Bahauddin stated that any act of physical or emotional abuse against students will be treated as a serious violation under the PEEDA Act 2006, leading to strict disciplinary action.

The circular directed school heads to train staff on the zero-tolerance policy, create child-friendly and inclusive classrooms, and report any incidents of abuse along with corrective measures.

Officials stressed that non-compliance would result in disciplinary proceedings, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for students.
