The Punjab government has stopped heads of government hospitals from giving leave to doctors who plan to travel abroad.

A new notification from the Punjab Health Department says that such leave requests must now be approved by the chief minister, according to Samaa News.

Under this policy, doctors working in government hospitals must apply for leave at least one month before their planned trip. Only the chief minister will have the authority to approve or reject the request.

The notice clearly states that hospital administrators, medical superintendents, and principals are not allowed to approve or even forward these applications without following the proper procedure.
