The Punjab School Education Department is set to implement new winter timings across schools in the province starting from October 20, pending final approval from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to officials, under the proposed schedule, schools will begin at 8:30 a.m. and close at 2:30 p.m. The Saturday holiday will continue as usual in all educational institutions.
The revised timetable has already been forwarded to the Chief Minister’s Office for final consent.
Earlier, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat invited public opinion on the proposed changes through a Facebook post, asking citizens, “What should be winter school timings?”
Sources said the new schedule aims to accommodate seasonal changes and ensure convenience for students and teachers during colder mornings.
