Punjab University has ordered the complete closure of its 27 hostels from June 6 to August 27, requiring all students to vacate during the summer break.
According to the university’s official notification, only international students will be allowed to remain in the hostels. Final-semester students working on their theses must obtain formal permission, while departments planning to continue academic or research activities must secure special approval for any student accommodation.
In previous years, students were often permitted to stay in the hostels over the summer at their own discretion. However, the administration explained that the new policy aims to facilitate maintenance work and ensure campus security.
The university has urged all students to comply with the guidelines and make alternative living arrangements for the duration of the closure.
