ISLAMABAD A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has granted bail to students who were arrested from a hostel at Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU). The decision was issued by Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas after hearing the students’ post-arrest bail applications.
The court approved the bail against surety bonds of Rs. 50,000 for each student. The students had been taken into custody in connection with a case registered at the Secretariat Police Station.
The case gained attention due to the location of the arrests—within the premises of one of Pakistan’s most prominent academic institutions. Following the hearing, the court determined that the accused could be released pending further legal proceedings, provided they meet the bond conditions.
Further developments in the case are expected as investigations continue.
