Rashid Khan tops ICC ODI bowling rankings as Pakistani stars slip

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest player rankings, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan claiming the top spot among ODI bowlers.

Pakistan, however, failed to secure any place in the top ten, marking a concerning dip in bowling rankings for the Men in Green.

Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has risen to No.1 in the ICC ODI bowling rankings. No Pakistani bowler could make it to the top ten, with Shaheen Shah Afridi placed 15th and Haris Rauf slipping one position to 29th.

This development reflects Afghanistan’s growing dominance in the shorter format, as Rashid continues to showcase consistency with his variations and control.

Shubman Gill tops ODI batsmen

India’s rising star Shubman Gill now holds the No.1 position among ODI batsmen, surpassing key rivals in the format. Pakistan’s former captain and star batter Babar Azam dropped one place to settle at fourth.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan retained his 25th position, and opener Fakhar Zaman followed closely at 27th.

In another major leap for Afghan cricket, Azmatullah Umarzai has topped the ICC ODI all-rounders rankings. His consistent contributions with both bat and ball have strengthened Afghanistan’s status as a competitive force in one-day cricket.

England’s Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batsman, while teammate Harry Brook also features among the leaders. Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has climbed to 12th position, followed by Mohammad Rizwan at 20th.

Among bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah leads the Test rankings, while Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Nauman Ali has made significant progress, securing the 6th position.
