A local court in Rawalpindi has sentenced a convicted drug supplier, Liaquat, to nine years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs80,000 after finding him guilty of narcotics possession.
According to police, Liaquat was arrested by Saddar Beroni Police Station in July 2025 during a routine operation, during which 1.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from his possession.
The court delivered the verdict after reviewing solid evidence and thorough investigation presented by the police and prosecution teams.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani praised the SSP Investigation and the legal teams for their effective efforts, stating that decisive actions against drug networks would continue under the province’s ongoing anti-narcotics campaign.
He reaffirmed the department’s resolve to eliminate the drug menace through strict enforcement and coordinated judicial measures.
