KARACHI – A rent-a-car owner who was injured during a robbery attempt in Orangi Town succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Jinnah Hospital late Sunday night.
According to police, the incident occurred near Bangla Bazaar within the jurisdiction of Pakistan Bazaar Police Station on Saturday around 12:45 a.m. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Muhammad Alamgir, son of Muhammad Islam, was sitting in his office when armed robbers barged in.
The suspects reportedly looted two individuals present in the office before turning towards Alamgir. When Alamgir stood up holding a wrench in an attempt to resist, the robbers opened fire, hitting him in the abdomen near the kidney. They then fled the scene after the shooting.
Alamgir was initially taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by a Chhipa ambulance, but due to lack of medical facilities, he was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The body was handed over to the family after legal formalities and was shifted to the Chhipa morgue for funeral arrangements.
