KARACHI – A man allegedly under the influence of alcohol rammed his double cabin vehicle into several motorcyclists in the Rashdi Goth area of Malir Cantonment on Sunday night.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Azmat Ali Shah, was driving recklessly when he hit two to three motorcycles and a loader rickshaw before veering onto the footpath. The Malir Cantt Police acted swiftly, arresting the suspect and seizing the double cabin Revo vehicle.
Officials said three cans of strong beer were recovered from the vehicle, one of which was half-consumed. Two separate FIRs have been registered — one for negligent driving and another for possession of alcohol.
Police added that the driver, who had no valid license, sustained injuries due to the crash and was also beaten by enraged citizens at the scene. The vehicle was badly damaged in the incident. The suspect has been taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
