JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Royal Court has announced the death of Prince Mohammed bin Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer Al Saud, according to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

The Royal Court said funeral prayers for the late prince would be performed on Monday, March 23, 2026, after Asr prayer at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.

The announcement was brief, in keeping with the Saudi Royal Court’s usual practice in such matters. It confirmed the prince’s passing and offered prayers for divine mercy and forgiveness.

Prince Mohammed belonged to the Al Saud Al Kabeer branch of the wider Saudi royal family, a prominent line connected to the Kingdom’s ruling house. While the official statement did not provide details about the cause of death, Saudi royal death announcements typically focus on funeral arrangements and prayers rather than personal medical information.

News of the prince’s passing comes as Saudi Arabia continues a busy domestic and diplomatic calendar, including preparations linked to the Hajj season and ongoing regional developments. Still, royal court announcements of this nature are treated with solemn attention across the Kingdom, particularly when funeral prayers are scheduled at one of Riyadh’s most important mosques.

The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque, located in the historic heart of Riyadh, is often used for funeral prayers for senior members of the royal family and prominent national figures.

The Royal Court prayed that Allah grant the late prince mercy, forgiveness and a place in paradise.
