Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has praised Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, calling him a legendary player and a true role model for upcoming fast bowlers.

Speaking from Australia ahead of the Big Bash League, Shaheen said he is fully determined to give his best throughout the tournament. He added that if the team needs him with the bat, he is ready to contribute there as well. According to Shaheen, the BBL is not an ordinary competition — it is one of the world’s top cricket leagues.

Shaheen noted that some of the finest international cricketers are part of the league this season. Their first match is against Mohammad Rizwan’s team, while Babar Azam is also in Australia for the BBL.

“They know me well, and I know them,” Shaheen said. “I’m hopeful we’ll see some great cricket here. I’m also expecting strong support from the Pakistani and Asian community.”

He added that during his last meet-up with Starc, he told him he had watched his iconic 2015 World Cup spell multiple times.
