Significant progress has been achieved in digital health operations under the One Patient One ID system.

‎During five months, 813,361 patients were registered at PIMS under the One Patient One ID system. Under the system, 1,518,360 laboratory tests were recorded at PIMS, while 387,610 patients were registered at emergency counters.

‎Under One Patient One ID, 220,067 radiology tests were conducted at PIMS, and during the five month period, 29,677 patients were admitted to the inpatient department of PIMS.

‎In addition, more than 2,000 staff members at PIMS were trained for the implementation of One Patient One ID. After the introduction of the digital system, the waiting time for medical reports has been reduced to three to four hours.

‎At PIMS, the daily number of OPD patients increased from 5,000 to 7,500, while One Patient One ID led to a daily increase of 2,500 patients in emergency services.

‎Officials said that under One Patient One ID, each patient is being provided with a unique digital identity. In the One Patient One ID system, the CNIC number is used as a permanent medical record number.

‎Through the digital system, a patient’s complete medical record is available at any hospital. One Patient One ID is helping reduce the repetition of unnecessary medical tests.

‎This system has been introduced to improve continuity of care and the quality of patient management. One Patient One ID is also proving helpful in promoting telemedicine and public health planning.
