A decision has been made to establish special wards for Sikh pilgrims in hospitals located in Lahore and Faisalabad.
Punjab’s Minister for Health and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, announced that special wards would be set up in these hospitals to facilitate Sikh pilgrims arriving for the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.
He made this announcement while presiding over a joint meeting with Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, to review the arrangements for the upcoming festivities.
Khawaja Salman stated that, under the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all arrangements for Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary celebrations are being closely monitored. He said that people of all faiths and sects hold Baba Guru Nanak in high regard and that visiting Nankana Sahib symbolizes solidarity with the Sikh community.
He emphasized that the safety and well-being of Sikh pilgrims are among the government’s top priorities. Officials and staff on duty must treat the pilgrims with utmost respect and kindness. The special hospital wards will ensure quality healthcare, while food and other facilities will remain uninterrupted.
He also praised the district administration for making excellent arrangements for the celebrations.
