KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has announced that five million sets of textbooks have been printed and delivered free of cost to government schools across the province for the academic year 2025–26.

According to an official statement issued on Sunday, the Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) has completed the distribution process. Of the total, 4.5 million sets were provided to public schools, while 500,000 sets went to Sindh Education Foundation (SEF)-supported institutions.

The initiative aims to ensure that students have access to essential learning materials as schools begin the new academic year. It is part of the government’s continued efforts to promote quality education and reduce the burden on families.

The Reform Support Unit (RSU) had initially proposed printing 5.5 million sets, anticipating a rise in student enrollment. However, only five million were printed and distributed based on current requirements.

Officials stated that if the number of enrolled students increases beyond expectations, additional book sets will be printed as needed. The department reaffirmed its commitment to improving access to education and supporting students across Sindh.
