Sohail Afridi, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has declared that he will take legal action after being denied permission to meet the founder of his party in prison, despite having a court order. He visited the gate of the Pakistan Tehreek‑e‑Insaf chairman’s detention facility hoping to receive guidance on policy-matters, but was stopped at a checkpoint by police and prevented from entering.
Afridi criticized the decision as a violation of his constitutional rights and said that if court-directives are ignored, the credibility of institutions themselves will suffer. He insisted his visit was in line with legal procedure and accused authorities of blocking the meeting despite explicit permission.
