ISLAMABAD, South Korea is offering Pakistani workers opportunities to seek legal employment through its Employment Permit System (EPS), according to reports published on Monday.
The programme is implemented through cooperation between Pakistan’s Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and South Korea’s Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea).
Which Jobs Are Available?
Under the EPS programme, eligible Pakistani applicants may seek employment in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, construction and certain services, depending on the recruitment phase and available vacancies.
Selected workers generally travel to South Korea under the E-9 work visa system. The programme provides a formal recruitment process, written employment contracts and protections under applicable South Korean labour laws.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Applicants generally need to meet the prescribed age, passport, medical fitness and other eligibility requirements. Candidates must also demonstrate Korean-language proficiency through the EPS-TOPIK examination and may need to complete additional skills assessments.
However, passing the Korean-language test does not guarantee a job. Final selection depends on employer demand, candidate qualifications and the applicable recruitment criteria.
How Can Applicants Get More Information?
Pakistani citizens interested in the programme should check the latest official recruitment notices issued by the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) for application dates, vacancies, eligibility criteria and examination details.
