The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially unveiled the schedule for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India.
As part of the finalized hybrid model, Pakistan will play all their matches in either Colombo or Kandy, a mutually agreed arrangement designed to ensure that Pakistan and India do not travel to each other’s countries during ICC events.
This hybrid model isn’t new — it was previously used during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, when the UAE hosted India’s matches, and again at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, where Sri Lanka was added as a co-host.
The 2026 World Cup format will mirror the 2024 edition, featuring 20 teams, divided into five groups of four. The top two sides from each group will move to the Super 10 stage, which will then lead into the semi-finals and the final.
