Torrential rain from Storm Alice has wreaked havoc across Spain’s Mediterranean coast, flooding roads, halting travel, and leaving thousands stranded in popular tourist regions like Catalonia, Valencia, and Ibiza.

Over the weekend, relentless downpours turned bustling streets into muddy rivers, with dramatic videos showing cars swept away by powerful currents. Emergency services have been working nonstop to rescue trapped drivers and evacuate residents from flooded areas.

Spain’s national weather agency, Aemet, has issued a red alert for parts of Valencia, warning that rainfall could reach up to 100 millimetres in just one hour  an amount capable of overwhelming drainage systems and causing further flash floods.
