In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court has reaffirmed that freedom of faith lies at the very heart of the Indian Constitution, emphasizing that belief must always be a matter of consciencenot coercion.

Echoing Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless words that “the essence of all religions is one; only their approaches are different,” the Court’s decision underscores the shared moral foundation that unites all faiths. It reminds citizens that protecting the Constitution also means safeguarding this common humanity and resisting both state tyranny and personal prejudice.

The verdict stands as a moment of clarity amid division and anger, reinforcing that faith, in its truest form, liberates rather than enslaves. Yet, it also signals that India’s journey toward genuine pluralism is far from over it is a renewed call to build a nation where diversity is cherished, coexistence is sacred, and freedom of belief remains unshaken.
