The Department of Specialized Health has failed to ensure compliance with outpatient timings in teaching hospitals.
Four months ago, outpatient timings in teaching hospitals were set from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, teaching hospitals in Lahore and across Punjab did not follow the OPD timings.
In a letter issued to the teaching hospitals, the Department of Specialized Health admitted its failure and directed the hospitals to ensure implementation of outpatient timings.
According to the letter, from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, outpatient departments will remain open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Friday, the OPDs of teaching hospitals will remain open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Teaching hospitals are not complying with the outpatient timings.
