False reports about legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s death flooded Indian social media and TV channels on Monday, triggering widespread confusion and panic among fans.
However, his daughter Esha Deol and family members have strongly denied the rumours, confirming that Dharmendra is alive, stable, and recovering at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after being admitted due to breathing difficulties.
“My father is fine and recovering. Please don’t spread fake news. These rumours are hurtful,” said Esha Deol in an Instagram statement.
Family sources clarified that the 89-year-old actor is not on a ventilator and is responding well to treatment. They criticised several TV channels and online outlets for “irresponsibly declaring him dead without verification.”
Dharmendra’s team urged the public to avoid believing unverified social-media posts, saying that official health updates will be shared through the family only.
