In a remarkable display of knowledge and compassion, 12-year-old twin sisters from Tunisia — Bissan and Bilsan — have won the Arab Reading Challenge 2025, held in Dubai, after reading an astounding 600 books in a single year.

The sisters were awarded a prize of 500,000 dirhams (approximately PKR 38.2 million) for securing the top position in the world’s largest Arabic reading competition.

In a heartwarming gesture, the young winners announced that they would donate half of their prize money to support the people of Palestine, earning widespread admiration and applause across the Arab world.

The Arab Reading Challenge, launched by the UAE to promote reading and knowledge among Arab youth, saw participation from millions of students across various countries this year.

The Tunisian twins’ extraordinary dedication to reading and their act of generosity have inspired countless children and adults alike, reinforcing the message that education and empathy are the true powers of the next generation.
