KARACHI: The UAE Dirham was trading at Rs76.55 against the Pakistani Rupee in the open market on Monday, May 25, 2026, according to local currency market data. The buying rate was listed around Rs75.55, while the selling rate stood at Rs76.55, though customers may see slightly different rates at banks, exchange counters and remittance platforms.

The UAE Dirham remains one of the most closely watched foreign currencies in Pakistan because of the large Pakistani workforce living in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other parts of the Emirates. For many families back home, even a small movement in the dirham rate can change the final amount received through monthly remittances.

UAE Dirham to PKR today

At the open-market selling rate of Rs76.55, common conversions are:

UAE Dirham Pakistani Rupee
1 AED Rs76.55
5 AED Rs382.75
10 AED Rs765.50
50 AED Rs3,827.50
100 AED Rs7,655
500 AED Rs38,275
1,000 AED Rs76,550

Open market and remittance rates may differ

Currency dealers usually quote two rates: the buying rate, which is the price at which they purchase foreign currency from customers, and the selling rate, which is the price at which they sell foreign currency.

That’s why a customer sending money from the UAE, buying dirhams in Pakistan, or receiving remittances through a bank may not get exactly the same rate shown on online currency portals.

International currency platforms placed the AED/PKR reference rate slightly lower, around Rs75.81 on May 25. Some remittance platforms, meanwhile, showed transfer-specific rates close to Rs76.61, often depending on service charges, promotional offers and payment method.

Why the dirham rate matters

The UAE is one of the biggest sources of remittances to Pakistan. Pakistani workers in the Emirates regularly send money to support household expenses, education, medical bills and small businesses back home.

At today’s open-market rate, 100 UAE Dirhams convert to about Rs7,655, while 1,000 Dirhams equal roughly Rs76,550 before any service fee or exchange-company deduction. For workers sending larger monthly amounts, even a difference of a few paisas can matter.

The rupee-dirham exchange rate is influenced by Pakistan’s foreign exchange position, demand for dollars in the local market, remittance inflows, and global currency movements. Since the UAE Dirham is pegged to the US Dollar, changes in the rupee-dollar rate also affect AED/PKR pricing.

Disclaimer: Currency rates change throughout the day. Customers should confirm the latest buying and selling rates with their bank, exchange company or money-transfer provider before making a transaction.
