ISLAMABAD: United Arab Emirates President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Friday, December 26, for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed will hold high-level meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior Pakistani officials. Discussions will focus on Pakistan-UAE relations and key areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and regional cooperation, according to official sources.

The visit comes at a time when both nations are seeking to deepen their long-standing partnership. Pakistan and the UAE share close ties rooted in mutual trust, economic collaboration, and people-to-people connections. Officials say the meetings are expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation in multiple sectors.

A day ahead of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Salem Al Zaabi, in Islamabad. The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and enduring commitment to further strengthening relations with the UAE. He also expressed gratitude for the UAE’s consistent support, particularly during difficult times, including humanitarian relief and development initiatives.

Highlighting economic cooperation, the prime minister welcomed the current level of bilateral trade and stressed the need to expand collaboration in priority areas such as energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation. He noted that increased investment and joint ventures could bring tangible benefits to both economies.

The UAE ambassador, in response, conveyed his country’s firm resolve to deepen its partnership with Pakistan across all sectors. He assured the prime minister that efforts would continue to explore new opportunities for cooperation that promote shared growth and long-term prosperity for both nations.

The visit is widely seen as an important step toward reinforcing strategic, economic, and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
