A video allegedly showing misconduct by staff at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) has gone viral, prompting authorities to take notice and initiate an inquiry.
According to sources, the individual who refused to perform an ECG was not a certified technician but a helper. RIC officials stated that due to workload in the ECG department, helpers are sometimes temporarily assigned to assist technicians.
The hospital administration clarified that an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The person involved, identified as Shoaib, reportedly belongs to the janitorial staff of a private company and had previously been dismissed from the hospital.
Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken following the committee’s findings.
