The national measles and rubella vaccination campaign will be held across the country from November 17 to 29, during which 35.4 million children will be vaccinated.
According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), the national vaccination campaign against measles and rubella will target all children aged between six months and five years. In specific high risk districts, children will also receive polio drops.
The NEOC stated that in Punjab, 6.8 million children will receive polio drops in Balochistan, 2.246 million; in Sindh, over 8.4 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5.246 million in Gilgit Baltistan, 136,000 and in Islamabad, 461,000 children will be administered polio drops.
It was further informed that vaccines will be available at government health centers, schools, madrasas, and temporary vaccination sites. In Punjab, more than 17.3 million children; in Sindh, more than 8.263 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 5.988 million and in Balochistan, more than 2.73 million children will be vaccinated against measles and rubella.
In Azad Kashmir, more than 624,000 children in Gilgit Baltistan, more than 246,000 and in Islamabad, more than 225,000 children will receive measles and rubella vaccines.
