Seoul: Apple’s reported plans to launch its most expensive iPhone yet could unexpectedly benefit its long-time rival, Samsung, as the South Korean tech giant is expected to play a major role in supplying key components for the premium device.

Industry analysts believe Samsung could profit from Apple’s next-generation flagship iPhone through its display manufacturing business. Samsung Display has long been one of Apple’s primary suppliers of advanced OLED panels, and demand for high-end screens is expected to rise if Apple introduces an ultra-premium iPhone model.

In addition to display technology, Samsung also supplies memory chips and other critical components used in Apple’s devices. As a result, even if the two companies compete fiercely in the smartphone market, Samsung stands to generate significant revenue from Apple’s hardware sales.

Experts note that the relationship between Apple and Samsung is unique, with the companies competing in consumer electronics while simultaneously maintaining a multi-billion-dollar supplier partnership. The launch of a more expensive iPhone featuring advanced technology could increase Samsung’s component orders and strengthen its semiconductor and display businesses.

The premium smartphone segment has continued to grow despite global economic uncertainty, with consumers showing a willingness to spend more on flagship devices offering cutting-edge features. If Apple’s new iPhone succeeds in attracting buyers, Samsung could benefit financially through higher component shipments, regardless of competition in smartphone sales.

The development highlights how major technology companies often rely on one another within the global supply chain, even while competing for market share in the same industry.
