The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that the winter season is expected to officially begin by the end of October, following a noticeable shift in weather patterns across the country.
In several parts of Punjab, including Lahore, mornings and evenings have already started turning cooler, while afternoons still remain sunny and warm. The recent spell of rainfall has played a key role in easing the summer heat, marking the early signs of seasonal transition.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), there are currently no chances of rain in the immediate forecast. However, showers anticipated toward the end of October are expected to bring a significant drop in temperatures officially marking the onset of winter across Pakistan.
Meteorologists also cautioned that early winter rainfall may be below normal this year due to changing climate patterns. Despite that, the upcoming shift is likely to provide much-needed relief from the prolonged summer heat that persisted well into October.
