PESHAWAR – At least 298 police personnel and civilians have lost their lives in terrorism-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far this year, according to a report issued by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
The report, covering the past 295 days, states that 117 police officials and 181 civilians were martyred, while 486 others sustained injuries in various terror attacks.
During 2,366 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across the province, security forces killed 368 terrorists and arrested 1,124 others.
The CTD report further revealed that 6,181 suspects were nominated in terrorism-related cases this year.
Additionally, 1,287 extortion cases were registered across the province, in which 209 suspects were nominated and 52 were arrested, the report added.
