Reports have emerged that 53 children have died from measles in Sindh this year.
According to Health Department statistics, 102 deaths from the disease have been reported across various districts of the country during the first 26 weeks of 2026.
The data showed that 7,105 suspected measles cases were reported in Sindh, of which 2,280 cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
Across the country, 29,066 suspected measles cases were reported, while 8,309 cases were confirmed by laboratory tests.
Meanwhile, health experts have expressed concern over the increasing spread of measles, stating that timely vaccination, effective surveillance, and emergency preventive measures are essential to control the disease; otherwise, the situation could become more serious.
