New Polio Case Confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A new case of polio has been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the provincial health department.

‎The health officials confirmed that the virus was detected in a five-month-old child from Union Council Sulaiman Khel in Lakki Marwat district.

‎Earlier, a polio case was also reported in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where a 10-month-old child had tested positive for the virus, as confirmed by the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).

‎With this latest case, the total number of polio cases in the province has reached 19 this year.

‎According to NEOC, the polio situation in the southern regions of the province remains alarming. A nationwide special anti-polio campaign is scheduled to launch next month.
