Health officials have confirmed that a man from Charsadda has died due to dengue fever.
According to District Health Officer Dr. Waseeullah, the patient, identified as Sajjad, was suffering from dengue and passed away today. Charsadda has so far reported 42 dengue cases this year.
Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, dengue is once again on the rise. The District Health Department’s report states that a total of 52 dengue cases have been confirmed in the city this year. Of these, eight patients have been admitted to various hospitals, while five confirmed patients are still under treatment. Fortunately, no dengue-related deaths have been reported in Rawalpindi so far this year.
Statistics reveal that Rawalpindi district has recorded 28 cases, while Murree has reported 22. Since the launch of the anti dengue campaign on January 1, more than 4.3 million homes have been inspected, with larva detected in over 1.139 million homes.
During this period, 56,781 sites were checked, 24 locations were found with dengue larva, and 67,964 larva were destroyed. Strict action has been taken against violations of dengue SOPs, resulting in 2,203 FIRs, sealing of 1,230 sites, issuance of 3,520 challans, and recovery of over Rs. 4.1 million in fines.
Recent cases in Murree have been reported from Phagghori, Potha Sharif, and Ghehal, while in Rawalpindi city, patients have been detected in Eid Gah, Satellite Town, Banni, and Gung Mandi, as well as in Kahuta, Gujar Khan, Taxila, and Kallar Syedan.
Health authorities have urged citizens to ensure that no water accumulates in or around their homes and to strictly follow preventive measures against dengue.
