Karachi-The University of Karachi held the “Battle for Truth” motorcycle rally to pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces. Students participated enthusiastically, led by none other than Vice Chancellor Professor Khalid Mahmood Iraqi himself.
Just one small difference—while the rest of the world sees helmets as a lifesaver, our esteemed VC seemed to send a different message: “Life looks better in books, not on your head.”
In Karachi, riding without a helmet comes with a fine of at least Rs. 300, but perhaps the law bows its head in respect to academic credentials. While traffic police are busy handing out helmets to ordinary citizens on street corners, our professor chose to tear out the very first page of the rulebook—right there on the road.
After all, leadership is expected not only in classrooms but on the streets too—though here, the example set was a little more… helmet-free.
