‎In Buner, following a cloudburst and floods, local residents have begun to suffer from psychological issues.

‎According to details, during the monsoon season in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner district, it has been revealed that people affected by the cloudburst and devastating flood torrents are now facing psychological problems.

‎In this regard, psychiatrist Dr. Abdul Shakoor from Buner is engaged in rehabilitation efforts for the affected individuals. He stated that residents of Bishonrdi, Gokand, Qadar Nagar, Bataii, and other flood-affected areas are suffering from psychological issues.

‎Psychologist Abdul Shakoor said he has so far provided psychological first aid to more than 120 people. He added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department and Pakistan Psychiatric Society are collaborating with him.

‎According to Dr. Abdul Shakoor, male and female specialists are also assisting in the psychological rehabilitation of local people. He explained that when a natural disaster occurs, people can suffer from various mental health issues, and children are often the most affected.

‎He stated that affected residents may experience anxiety, panic, and irritability, while those already mentally vulnerable may fall into depression and other psychological disorders.

‎Dr. Abdul Shakoor further said, “We are currently providing psychological first aid to the people. In Bishonrdi, Qadar Nagar, and Gokand, more people have been affected by the floods, and steps are also being taken for the rehabilitation of affected children.”
