Skin diseases have increased in Karachi after the rains, confirmed Additional Director Dr. Abdullah Yahya.

‎The Additional Director stated that the number of patients has significantly increased after the monsoon, with 5,000 skin disease patients visiting Chamra Hospital daily.

‎He further said that fungal and bacterial infections are spreading due to contaminated water and open manholes, while parasitic infections are also increasing due to stagnant water.

‎A dermatologist said that the OPD at Civil Hospital receives 500 to 600 patients daily, while more than 600 patients are reporting at Jinnah Hospital.

‎Dr. Rabia stated that to prevent skin diseases, it is extremely important to avoid contaminated water and unhygienic places.
