PM Slams Israeli Strike in Doha as ‘Brazen Violation’ of Qatar’s Sovereignty

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has denounced Israel’s air strikes in Doha as a “heinous and unlawful act,” calling it a blatant attack on Qatar’s sovereignty and a grave threat to regional peace.

In a statement on X, the premier expressed outrage over the bombing of a residential area in the Qatari capital, which endangered civilian lives. He extended Pakistan’s “deepest sympathies and solidarity” to Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Qatari royal family, and the people of Qatar, assuring them of Pakistan’s unwavering support.

Sharif stressed that the assault was “totally unjustified” and a direct violation of Qatar’s territorial integrity. He also reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance with both Qatar and Palestine against what he described as Israel’s “aggression.”

Israel’s military confirmed it carried out the strikes with the Shin Bet security agency, claiming the operation targeted senior Hamas leaders. However, Hamas said its leadership survived what it called a “cowardly assassination attempt.” According to Hamas official Suhail al Hindi, the son of top negotiator Khalil al Hayya and his aide were among those killed in the attack.

The incident has drawn widespread alarm, with observers warning it could inflame tensions and further destabilize the region.
