The Punjab Assembly has introduced a bill to regulate private academies, coaching, and tuition centers across the province. Lawmakers said unchecked growth of these institutions over the past decade has raised concerns despite their role in exam preparation.
The Punjab Private Educational Institutions Promotion and Regulation (Amendment) Bill, presented by PML-N legislator Amjad Ali Javed, aims to standardize operations, ensure transparency, and protect students’ interests.
The bill has been referred to a committee, which will submit a report within two months. It will then return to the assembly for approval, with the final decision resting with Governor Sardar Saleem Haider.
